Most of the time I get bored with academic non-fiction unless it’s in a topic I am deeply invested in. I love how this one approaches a very technical topic through stories/narratives rather than a straight up discussion on machine learning, etc. Have to agree with the NY Times review that if I can only read one book on AI as a beginner this would be it. Glad I picked this up!

At this point in the book, I just want to tell Sadie: it’s not worth it. It’s not worth it having to put someone you love or like too much on a pedestal that you think you have to be someone you’re not, mold yourself into someone you don’t like or believe in, just to get that person’s approval. That it is scary be alone but you don’t have to stay just because you are afraid of having no one.

4 stars is my version of 5 stars. I rarely, very rarely ever give 5 stars I think I have found the 5 star read of the year, after 15 books and it’s only April!

Not even gonna mask my ridiculous, embarrassing fangirling momemnt BUT AM FINALLY GONNA MEET PATRICIA FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE FOLLOWING HER JOURNALISM EIGHT YEARS AGO WHILE ENROLLED IN AN INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM CLASS AND SHE PUBLISHED HER DRUG WAR SERIES. Probably felt exaggerated but I have checked every FB post of her top of reading her articles and this book is just a dream come true from a fan like me

This book is like a warm hug after a tiring day. Absolutely in no rush to finish this because i just love how chill and calming to read this. Also, this book is maybe reviving my dreams of establishing an independent bookstore myself.

Sometimes, Korean and Japanese novels just hit differently even though sometimes the characters feel flat or the conversations don’t have the witty banter of most books written by Western authors that I read.

My second book by a Korean author! or more like 2.5. because I just couldn’t finish Human Acts (if you’ve read it, you’ll know or maybe I’m just a weak shit) Taking a rom-com break because I feel like I have been rom-commed out after reading 5 in the span of 2 weeks 😂

After days of devouring rom-com books, this is a pleasant break :) This is my third book written by a Korean author as I usually gravitate towards Japanese authors. But I love it so far!!!
