If it could pick up the pace just a tad. That possum fight scene has been the only interesting bit for a minute.

I love how this author writes. Giving 'What Moves The Dead' which is one of my faves. Cringing slightly at the audiobook narrators accent when narrating Black people, though.

Really enjoying this, despite not being a fan of books set in this era. It's such a mixture of dull and bland, then just really weird and kinda silly. If you saw your maid eating hair from a hairbrush, you wouldn't just shrug that off would you. Give them a day off, at least.

This isssss good... it's well written and interesting. It just feels so long. Guess thats expected for a book on immortals though.

Quickly changed to hating this. 75% done and there's no horror, except a weird moment of Ash beating a racoon with a shovel. So far it's been a long, drawn out, flat romance with a generous helping of cringe. Finding a book with a saphic storyline that isn't lead by 'this isn't like being with a man at all!' Is rare and often plays into gender stereotypes, this is no different.

This is strange. Similar vibes to some of my favourite books (Cackle and The Lamb).

This has potential to be really good. The main character was a bit of a dick about the missing women though?? Bet that'll age badly

So very nearly DNF @ 8%. But I'm not a quitter and it's my gay duty to suffer through this. I shoulda known better than to stray away from my horror/sci-fi/fantasy comfort zone

It can't just be me who doesn't find this old lady with liver cancer who runs a library bus, scary? Like, nothing has been done to make her a sinister character at all.

There are some parts that are really good, but the majority is pretty lame. It feels quite juvenile and basic. Really hoping this turns around.

Was expecting a little more witchcraft or maybe something a little satanistic at this stage of the book already. This must mean it's about to get dark fast, right?

An easy read but not strikingly original so far. The whole 'birds whalloping themselves to death against the house' thing is dull.

I have five hours of listening time left. It's bloody fab, right. Buuuut I'm not wildly interested in the plot with the griffons. I hope things turn around for there to feel like there's a point to it. I was kind of hoping this book might step back in to Will's world, and maybe it will.

Went into this totally blind, it's paying off though as this is such an easy read.
