we are getting back on track with reading guys

i got this from a secondhand store
not really enjoying it
but it feels like a challenge to my commitment so i will persevere and hopefully i shall learn lessons from this experience

i’m back from the pits guys. day 4 of being internet-less is really testing my reading speed

i gave up reading this years ago. i’ve picked it up again feeling really glad because now i understand the literary allusions to the great gatsby

why did ryu and hornclaw randomly kiss bro. ryu’s wife just died and he’s kissing this girl years younger than him. it ruined my mood. this wasn’t what i was looking forward to. i was looking forward to their relationship swinging from platonic and romantic, how ryu influences hornclaw and why ryu remains important to her even as she hits her 60s

i’m going to have to read the og korean version bc the english trans are so clunky wtf

i’m biased honestly bc i’m reading this book bc my favourite actor is in the movie adaptation im not sorry though❤️‍🩹 also the translations could’ve done more justice for the book

dude i didn’t even realise ryu was a key character in hornclaw’s past bc they never revealed that in the movie trailer. i feel like i’ve been struck in the head rn
