Almost finished with this book that reminds me a little of those Scandanavian slice of life movies where everyone goes quietly about their business.

I wanted to like it. Turned off by the self congratulatory preface about what a great writer she was. As for the stories, the condension the character displayed toward a diverse character had me stop reading. I get too much of that in real life.

It wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It's one of those books your boss gets all excited about and buy copies for all the employees to read, then expects the company environment to change.

Not for me, especially when the guy started obsessing about the woman's perfect breasts and how a guy like him never rated such a perfect specimen. His perfect woman added two creamers to a latte, a drink already made with milk. Did I forget the main character could run down a deer? I prefer books with realistic characters and know enough not to add creamers to a latte.
