There’s mention of the one time when she was 16 or whatever and she put herself out there to him and he shut her down and that’s how she knows (literally how many years later) they’re still friends? I need to know that back story know so I can “believe” why they really think that the other is not interested in more than just friendship.

I’m having a really hard time with how deep their friendship is and they both don’t see it for what it really is.
You don’t get matching tattoos of each others names if you’re truly JUST friends. Like… come on.
