so dense and a bit of a downer but i guess it is the history of bad people

wow liking this better than the spin off plot and action which is saying something bc the first one was a tough read with the characters!

not mark narrating but i love the original trio

we have moved to relatively recent gays faster than i would have thought for only being 40% in. but some interesting colonial global history

i really like this series as fathers son bonding with luke and his son

book 2 lets gooo

the mystery was underwhleming by the end but i became less frustrated bc MC stood up for herself and there was no longer non-stop arguing as the dialogue/conflict.

the conflict is mostly all the men hating on and being misogynistic towards the MC for doing her job and it gets very grating/frustrating
i want more mystery solving with the vampire hunters and magic tattoos

im intrigued by the world building

I felt very liberal arts having known the greek and roman pedagogy daddy/twink stuff from my gender and sexuality in antiquity college class :) this will probably be the end of me having known stuff before

unsure how i feel abt the ending

i love seeing louisa and aubrey's relationship come together
