there are footnotes which is hard with ebooks

overall an okay ya sports romance, not as sport specific focused as i was expecting, it’s kinda of just a plot device/ theme. the influence is a lot more about the social implications and consequences of team sports in high school.

i don’t like the audio book narrator but i want to see what and early EH sci fi novel looks like. i think i need to get 25% in to really get hooked tho, this first chapter is a slog and confusing with a cast of like 6-7? MCs

i don’t love the one gay character who is pretty 2 dimensional as “i can’t wait to get out of this small town” and “all i have is school” but for a romance there are a decent amount of other characters with more dimension that aren’t the main couple

the supernatural ghosties are an interesting plot device, low key the dad seems kinday shitty and i like the MC discovering this. I can see how this is the older sibling that led to beach reads

Update! the age gap is actually 20 and 18 but it’s still weird!!! he finished his 3rd year of college and MC jokes a lot about him being old!!!

yum this age gap is concerning! MC is 18 junior to senior in high school and the love interest is 21?? fully well into college very sketchy at this time in their lives

this book has been suuuuch a slowww burn but things are finally starting to pick up and get interesting!! and suspenseful! there’s definitely a creepy neighbor who has murdered in the past! and probably and imposter!!

finally finished what a book i can’t say is reccomend it

the MC frustrates me a lot! also her dialogue sounds kind of cringe at times making this read a bit of a slog to get through, but im determined to see this mess through till the end

i like how the indigenous folk tales are weaving into the story

the multiple characters are much more confusing bc it’s a bunch of straight couples with kids in unhappy marriages and i CANNOT tell who is who

couple high schoolers horny for each other and multi universe as the reveal and not time travel was a little disappointing but i’m still interested to see where this meandering plot could possibly go at this point

very similar MC to the other books by the author, but i’m still intrigued to see how creepy suburban ireland can be this time! love the narrator too

this is an interesting follow up to wishful drinking, and gets more raw and real about the tougher subjects. In this way, you can see how WD was adapted from the stage. also, the body image talk reveals the true boomer generation carrie was apart of
