Started this book months ago, and now picked it up again... hopefully to finish it before year's end. :)

It boggles the mind how many sailors perished of typhus and scurvy... I think being shipwrecked is the least of the horrors.

We'll the British navy did have some pretty horrible 'hiring' practices... I wonder why a mutiny was started at some point - how 'unexpected'.

The dynamic with the cat is hilarious. :)

Some stories are better than others, but I think every reader can find one to like.

Well, what one doesn't read for a challenge... I hate modernism, especially the stream-of-consciousness type of books. Oh, well, it's short-ish for a book of this type?

Lucy made some bad choices, but the town sure had no idea about Savvy.

I didn't think I'd enjoy a teenage POV or school setting ever again, but somehow I do with this book. Hopefully it ends with some 'eureka' moment for our heroine because her blindness is sometimes pitiful but not yet annoying.
