Still not convinced the multiple perspectives is working. Some of the ecological guilt is a bit heavy-handed. Well paced though.

Author is trying very hard to create unresolved sexual tension between two unattractive and unpleasant people. Yuck.

Still making up my mind on this one. Plot is reasonably paced but wholly implausible. Creation of atmosphere is fair. Only major weakness is that the cast of characters is small and all of them are hard to feel much sympathy for; it makes it difficult to get deeply engrossed in the book.

Big improvement on its predecessor volume. The previous one felt chaotic and rushed. This is focussed and well-put together.

Uses a multi-perspective approach which can work - if the author is good enough.
Some factual quibbles but not critical ones so far.

Markedly better than Metro 2033. More skilfully plotted. Author has learned his craft well.

A weird concoction. Seems to be a bundle of pamphlets forced together.

This could easily be cringey and embarrassing, but Waugh has a light enough touch to carry it along.
