This book is also very much an odyssey of van der Kolk's personal achievements and accolades...

Van der Kolk clearly empathizes with his veteran patients. He describes them clearly, tenderly, in great detail, what they've been through and how they should be understood. Women patients? Not so much. They're victims of unspecificed abuse/rape/incest and never get more than one line of description.

There are so many spelling mistakes in this book.
