I’m giving it a shot after my sister sold it to me as “entertaining in the way that a soap opera or reality tv is”.

Though some of it has definitely been entertaining so far, idk if I can get behind everyone pretty much pretending consent isn’t a thing, and all the sexual harassment towards the two barely 18yr old main characters.

And making some of the assault seem ok just cause the guy is hot?! Gross.

Another reason I love the Percy Jackson books is that the most stressful intense scenes could be going on and you still get lines like these

“I was about to make some clever comment, like ‘No’, when the Titan yelled”.

The humor in these books is amazing “with great power comes…..great need to take nap”

I forgot just how hilarious this series is

Unfortunately it hasn’t gotten better, every few pages I keep thinking “this is stupid”. Considering DNFing it

Unfortunately not up to a good start. The dialogue seems corny/not-believable, and the beginning feels so rushed. I can’t imagine any of the characters except maybe the FMC, as they all seem like props. And the FMC immediately starts off by giving the strongest “not like other girls” vibes and I’m not here for that anymore.

The book has okay-ish ratings so I’ll try to keep an open mind for now.
