That ornery uncle sounds difficult, but his house or rather castle by the ocean, sounds soo nice.

I know, I said I'd finish and I only read like ten pages but I swear I like it. Kinda crazy; the whole dawn at Delmonico's, what with Dean and Peter flipping out and flippin off waiters and knockin over innocent coffee cups. Good heavens, was I ever that bad as a collegiate? I plead the fifth.

Okay I'm finishing this sucker tonight. It's actually quite good; time's just been rather illusive of late.

Edit’s treatment of Gordon, after all her excitement to see him, certainly proves no one loves you when you’re down and out.

I was a boy when I first read this and it feels like a different book. How awful are the "man-animals" when they first find White Fang! Ferocious.

Poor One-Eye. Man he was tough. Experienced too. And what's more than all these boasts can be, he was a good father. Went for that lynx with guts and conviction. Long live One-Eye, the honorable.

“A guy goes nuts if he ain't got nobody.  Don't make no difference who the guy is , long's he's with you.  I tell ya,” he cried, “I tell ya a guy gets too lonely an’ he gets sick.”
Well, ain’t that the truth. Look at our sorry societies today with our lonely losers in their parents’ basements glazing at ai poison on their grimy devices. Only a set of eyes and one can see what’s wrong.

“The "strangeness," however, which I found in the eyes, was of a nature distinct from the formation, or the color, or the brilliancy of the features, and must, after all, be referred to the expression. Ah, word of no meaning!” -Ol’ Edgar

So, I have a new book coming out in the next few months. I’m kinda bummed about what’s happening because I would’ve loved to get arcs out for it. Anyway please follow on instagram or facebook if you’d like an arc when I’m finished.

"...he sometimes came out with his guess quite loud, and very often guessed quite right, too; for the sharpest needle, best Whitechapel, warranted not to cut in the eye, was not sharper than Scrooge; blunt as he took it in his head to be." Who knew Scrooge had low self-esteem.

But how hot of a blind man's buff game is this! "She often cried out that it wasn’t fair; and it really was not. But when at last, he caught her; when, in spite of all her silken rustlings, and her rapid flutterings past him, he got her into a corner whence there was no escape; then his conduct was the most execrable. For his pretending not to know her; his pretending
that it was necessary to touch her head-dress..."

And their assembled friends being not a bit behindhand, roared out lustily." All I gotta say is I gotta hang out with these guys!

Who would've thought Scrooge a reader! Look at his little self there in the schoolhouse, all enamored with Ali Baba: "Suddenly a man, in foreign garments: wonderfully real and distinct to look at: stood outside the window, with an ax stuck in his belt, and leading by the bridle an ass laden with wood. 'Why, it’s Ali Baba!' Scrooge exclaimed in ecstasy." I tell you, no film can capture that.

Okay, back from my slump, or more accurately, my chaotic schedule that makes Liam a dull boy! but I digress, this story's bombast and bonkers and every kind of boom! I'll just say I didn't expect Kismine to be so... so... insane! Would anyone foresee the barbaric blood behind those blue eyes? Probably, the perceptive; while I'm lost upon each emerald and ruby, not to mention her walking barefoot in the grass!

I just don’t get it. He’s loving her company, listening to the sound of her voice when, “at length its melody was tainted with terror, and there fell a shadow upon my soul, and I grew pale.” Damnit Poe! Why you always gotta ruin a good thing!

So interesting; in the outset, he talks of his soul burning "with fires it had never before known; but the fires were not of Eros, and bitter and tormenting to my spirit was the gradual conviction that I could in no manner define their unusual meaning or regulate their vague intensity." Such an authentic description for how some experience strong emotion -I can't call it love- indeed, some can't love, like this man.

“Who has not, a hundred times, found himself committing a vile or a silly action, for no other reason than because he knows he should not? Have we not a perpetual inclination, in the teeth of our best judgment, to violate that which is Law, merely because we understand it to be such? This spirit of perverseness, I say, came to my final overthrow. It was this unfathomable longing of the soul to vex itself-“ Crazy!

Well, this is so far turning out rather interesting. We know he's slain someone, and most of us know who -but isn't it really the how things happen rather than what when reading Poe? Anyway, he's now telling of a sort of nemesis, a competitor, while at school. And he makes such astute comments about bullies and the physical dominance that goes on at these institutions, believe me I know. Anyhow, I'm out of charac
