Oh this is not looking good, guys. Considering all the 2 star reviews are highlighing the same problems that I'm finding, this seems like another let down

the glazers of this book need their eyes checked. It's moderately better than Sins on Their Bones, but it still contains much of the same problems. Samotin didn't learn her lesson at all.

Also Michael is just Dimitri 2.0

21% in and we are JUST getting to the promise of cool research. But we had to have a sex scene!!!!!!!!!! That coulnd't have been omitted

Its so not subtle that Michael is just Dimitri but again oml this woman can't have one original character

I swear to god 70% of this book has been the narration/Michael ruminating on how miserable he is and how it sucks his boyfriend died and how said boyfriend was abusive. IDGAF DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH!!!! DO SOMETHING!!!! This is just Dimitri Sin Boners 2.0

I refuse to dnf this book. After multiple people questioned my decision making I cannot whimp out of this. It's genuine ass. We gotta keep persisting.

6/7/2024: listen y'all this book is due back at the library soon and the nice person at B&N recommended it to me. Hope it lives up to the hype

Like It's not bad but like...this was the bookiest book that goodreads laid their eyes on? Maybe I'm just missing something here. It's just...fine, I guess. Could it be because I'm not really connected to that era besides listening to my parents' music? It's entertaining for sure but it's not blowing me out of the water just yet
