I just finished The Idiot and gave it 3 stars. It was a slog to get through it.

I just finished Tinkers and gave it 2 stars. Although this was a Pulitzer Prize winner, and the words and phrases beautifully crafted, the story was depressing and strange and drug on like a plastic cup slowly drifting along a polluted stream, getting caught in murky churning eddies of poison.

I just finished A Visit from the Goon Squad.Flash backs, future tracks, music, memories, the realization of time passing, growing old and remembering a time in youth of dreams to come true.

I just finished When You Live By a River. This was an amazingly well written book. The craftsmanship of the wording and the flow was beautiful. The best I have read in years.I took a ski class with the author. Mermer Blakeslee is an amazing woman, skier, teacher, and now I know author too.

I just finished The Son and gave it 5 stars. An epic saga of a Texas family, showing the darker side of the rise of a great state.

I just finished Goddess. What a character. Based on a real woman. Not your usual historical novel.

I just finished The Goldfinch: A Novel (Pulitzer Prize for Fiction). Wow, almost 800 pages of a twisting, turning journey of doubt, fear, self-loathing, love, and redemption. The word craft is incredibly beautiful.

I just finished AMPED (The WIRED Sequel) and gave it 5 stars.

I just finished Dark Legacy (The Dark Trilogy Book 3) and gave it 4 stars. Good ending.

I just finished Dark Carnival (The Dark Trilogy Book 2) and gave it 4 stars. The main character for a lot stronger in this book.

I just finished Dark Bayou (The Dark Trilogy Book 1). Pretty good. The Louisiana references were great. The main character was wimpy and whining.

I just finished The Cajun and gave it 3 stars. Rambo in the Louisiana swamps. I'm trying to connect with my Cajun roots. This wasn't all that helpful.

I just finished A Man of Some Repute (A Very English Mystery Book 1).This was a good one. Part Downtown Abbey, part Agatha Christie. Excellent character development.

I just finished Death by Inferior Design (A Domestic Bliss Mystery series Book 1) and gave it 3 stars. A poor murder mystery with unbelievable characters, but all the interior design references were a blast!
