I'm really struggling to get into this. The long chapters are daunting and the one perspective but multiple characters does not capture my attention as much.

Okay now I’m finally crying. Just have part 3 left.

I’m still confused on how Felicia and Mila managed to escape that nightmare. Also how is Halina with her parents? Last time we saw her she was trying to get Adam from the camp right???

I’m also annoyed a little by the amount of other languages that are used. I understand it’s true to the events and time period but I wish more often translations and context were given after

This story is kind of confusing with the ensemble of characters and the switching perspectives.

I really appreciate the inserted excerpts in important dates in the war and lead up to conflict

This story has become heartbreaking. It’s crazy how prevalent these atrocities are in women’s lives and how they are always the ones left feeling responsible to overthink their actions and dealing with traumatic thoughts.

This book feels like it jumps around a lot. I’m not really compelled to keep reading at times.

I am unwell. Chapter 37 just broke me a little.

I feel sick to my stomach

I would have cried if I had not been reading this while subbing. That was so many abhorrent events in a row. Also, I swear if Vianne acts on her weird, twisted desires I am going to be so upset.

I knewwwwww the father was involved. I can’t wait to find out how this unfolds and which woman is the one who exists in the future with the son Julien.

This book is very heavy. I’m just waiting for the worst thing to happen every time.

Starting 2026 with a good one…hopefully

Orla and Julian’s conversation on religion made me feel very seen.

This is definitely a very cool concept but hard to follow at times with the three different timelines and the seven year jumps. Not extremely difficult to keep up but I find myself having to go back or jog my memory a lot.

So far it’s pretty good. Gordon’s character is slightly triggering though.

Why is Cameron so so so immature? His lash outs and defensiveness remind me of 12 year old. And I would know because I work in school every day with them. It is so crazy to see from a 30 year old man. It is a defense mechanism anytime things don't go his way or seem to not be going his way.

I am loving this story so far. Good mix of literary fiction and mystery

Wow the end of Chapter 20. That's crazy.

It is beautiful writing and characterization but the plot still is not wowing me. Also why did I just realize the one daughter is named Nell Nelson, or am I missing something??

Wait Joe? Joe is Nelson? The director of the play at Tom Lake?

Duke and Lara's initial meeting was so adorable and the banter was just amazing and witty.

Feeling like a 3 star read at the moment while I am still weeding through the initial introductions and character building. It is beautiful writing but nothing in the plot so far is very compelling.
