The illustrations are gorgeous and just make this book 10 times more enjoyable having the break between writing and illustrations

Arghhh I’m so angry and heartbroken for Shari. Every single chapter I go through I’m getting more worked up for what this girl has gone through. Like how on earth did people let it get this far, how could no one see the pain and torture that was going on behind closed doors. My poor girl, the adults in her life were all mistreating her, I just want to scream and pull her out of this nightmare.

They do have a great friendship and banter together just like in the show which I love.
I’m such a sucker for any type of romance book/show/movie I honestly just need some help at this point 💀🤣

My heart is actually breaking for this poor girl. Being dragged into all of this because of her mum’s terrible choices and obviously how messed up in the head the mum is. As much as she probably disagrees I really feel like her dad failed her. There were so many red flags and warning signs that he chose to ignore and continue with but I guess it’s similar to being in a domestic relationship, never easy to leave.

I’m unsure how I feel about the current plot twist and how different it’s appearing from the show, it hurts me the way she feels and I wish he would just speak up dude. It’s running oddly similar to Daphne and Simon’s story so I can see why they changed it for the show.

They should rename this book - City of Fighting, legit this whole book just been Clary and Jace fighting. Finally saw a glimpse of hope and it was magnificent then everything went crashing done even worse than it was before.

Hmm…I don’t like some of the things her psychiatrist is saying to her. Definitely her medication has been causing her side effects she was unaware of but to say the hurting of her friend was due to her medication isn’t right. It was already established she was like this in relationships but I feel he tends to give her excuses to why she can get away with things. Also his ignorance and dismissal of her drinking.

But I swear she was doing better 💔😭
