Attempt three to read this book

I think this will be my second DNF of this year,
I really don’t understand why this is so popular. So far it’s had it’s moments of brilliance but it falls into the genre “female main character sinks into being as unlikeable as possible”, a theme that was played out imo 10 years ago.

I’ve heard very mixed things about this one…

Finally going to see what all the fuss is about Rachel Cusk

It’s not that I’m not enjoying this, but it really hinges a lot on Our Town, which I’ve neither seen nor read

After this author’s appearance in the novel Leading Men I had to pick this up -
It’s also the same time period and location as the Alma de cespedes novel I was obsessed with earlier this year, her side of the story

More than a decade before the feminine mystique:
