Setting the scene for the denouement.

More character development.

Some exposition and expansion of the characters. once again a reference to darker things to come.

Some interesting plot twists with a suggestion of something very dark afoot. I shall be interested to see where this goes. More to come.

Sitting here and listening to a medley of tunes from Art Pepper and Clifford Brown while reading Bob Bickford's excellent tribute to the hard boiled detective novel. Only 60 pages in but Bickford seems to have caught the vernacular of the era perfectly. More later.
