New Moon (part 3): chat, Konstantin is part of the Volutri... let me cook...

New Moon (part 2): Hamish is Jasper and Tess is Bella with a little cut on her finger and Hamish freaks out, Callum is the only one that can control himself around blood (Carlisle)... i'm so over it at this point.

i had to put down this book for a second at page 148 to really see the Twilight comparisons — Thomas being James, Althea being Victoria, Tess being hunted by Althea... it feels like i'm reading a Twilight AU at this point.

was prepared to DNF but then Tess went to the Isle and met both Callum and Felix and now i MUST know how this pans out later in the novel.

talk about juicy and steamy (i hope)!

cons: 25 pages in and this book is already giving a weird blend of the typical college dropout cliche (i disappeared without explanation for months and i am now returning to disrupt everyone's lives with my nonsensical nonsense) mixed in with The Vampire Diaries (Blood Feud)

pros: since i've read this novel so many times, once again, i'm biased. bella's description of her awareness that she's using jacob to fill a void inside of her... it's beautifully self-destructive and selfish.

cons: i forgot how emotional bella can be at times. way too dramatic at times.

pros: i've always loved reading Bella's first interaction with Jacob as they got closer. i truly believe that Bella loves him in a way that's tied up with her mourning.

cons: i forgot how long this novel truly is.

"Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me."

first cold day of the fall season in new jersey, it's that time

pros: poor, vulnerable Annalía, so scared that Courtland is going to leave her. it actually tugs at my heartstrings, Court needs to genuinely stop being so stubborn.

pros: loving this whole kidnapping situation. Courtland, the man that you are... stop denying your attraction to Annalía!

cons: Annalía, stop acting like you don't want Courtland back... because i would've been all over him!

pros: Annalía and Courtland just.. make sense. if they end up together, it would make complete sense. her sensibility and his bravery are a very cute combination.

additional: this book is MUCH easier to follow compared to the books i've read so far out of the Immortals After Dark series.

pros: Court, the protective man that you are! stop pestering Anna about what she's crying about!

my first historical romance ever, let's goooooooooooo!

pros:

cons: this is somehow more confusing than A Hunger Like No Other. in AHLNO, i actually understood what was going on. i feel like i have to reread this to understand why Myst and Nikolai just rutted out of nowhere, for seemingly no reason... but at least Myst is Nikolai's bride!

i guess...

pros: this series is so intricate and detailed that you have to LOCK IN and read every single word to understand what's going on. literally embed yourself into the book. no skipping pages!

pros: this book is hard to put down. i was initially over it in the beginning, already angry at page 3, but now i'm struggling to actually get my work done at my desk. what a kiss! i need them to fall in love with each other ASAP.

pros: cute and sweet. Declan is the quiet, brooding, yet somewhat affectionate type. typical trope - enemies to lovers, clearly. i can already sense it.

cons: Abi is doing a little too much, asking for $40,000 off the bat for her student loans to be paid off... i commend you, miss girl. becuase that's BOLD.

pros: Rhett can be cute, but i feel like he's going to disappoint me very soon. yay for him and Summer finally giving into each other! plus, the plot is slightly getting better, there's potential.

cons: smut is also too dialogue heavy. fun, but way too much talking.

cons: taking a shot every time the word "swagger" is used, and it's three too many times for me already. incredibly cringey.

additional: however, i don't feel the need to DNF because i'm mildly invested...

cons: maybe i'm being too rough on this book so far, but it's very millenial coded & dialogue heavy, which isn't incredibly my favorite thing in the world. plus, what's with all the 2025 lingo? i don't care that your outfit is "slay," Summer Hamilton.

cons: siblings named Summer and Winter? Rhett's mother being dead and him having absolutely no memory of her? nepotism? (not a negative, but still so fitting for the way i assume this book is going to go) it's already giving Wattpad fan fiction, and not in a good way.

pros: how CUTE! i'm actually going to be so sad when i finish this book, it's heart-achingly good. + who doesn't mind a lil' Charlie smut?
