I was relying on this book to help me relax today and 💀 I fear my expectations were far too high. God this book was BORING. I’m shelving this to finish reading later bcs I just do NOT have the patience rn.

It’s 3.30am, and I’m now very unhappy. What’s with this terrible third act break-up?? Like, if you’re gonna have one at least make it good—there should have been more build up to it. Also I genuinely do not understand Oak’s decision to protect Brax!! I literally see no way of recovering their relationship, bcs Oak done fucked everything up. Plus, he has shitty friends who pissed me off even more. 💀

Omg update! Derrick brought up leaving the Navy, and Arthur shut that shit down immediately! There will be no Derrick-giving-up-his-dreams! Thank god. I am a happy, satisfied woman again and will now enjoy the rest of this book at ease

[slight spoilers] Rn it’s sounding an awful lot like Derrick is reconsidering his desire to be promoted to chief and/or considering leaving his job. All for Arthur. And I am very pissed off. If he actually does end up giving up his childhood dream for Arthur I am going to be a very angry woman ♥️ but we shall see

But mehhhh as of where I’ve read up to so far, it’s just been fully ENEMIES and the plot is kind of pissing me off idk why
I’ll probably pick this back up later tho

There isn’t very much romance or emotion involved, mainly just sexual attraction and inflated egos.

+ the difference in the effort being invested in their relationship by Panther and Solo is pissing me off. Im also running out of patience for Panther, and rn he’s acting like a sore loser and hypocrite
