wondering if the killer is mina, but then she'd have like, a long connection to poppy and is planning this for a loooong time. but i hope it isn't her, poppy deserves some real friends 3

really liking it so far!! i love how poppy is smart but not condescending or mean, loving her friendship with mina and excited for more of her and isiah!!

the dialogues are so clonky and i hate nathan's chapters. the story is already moving at turtle-speed, and it gets even slower once i have to read about him— and it nevers adds to anything!

this book is weirdly so hard to find?

anyway, i don't think i'm going to like it very much, but i need to get my feedback ratio better on netgalley. i thought i'd like it more by the synopsis, but the writing is definitely not up my alley, and the characters don't act their age, which is my biggest ick on books.

the mystery isn't moving as fast as i would like, but i still love these characters. though, again complaining about this, i want more scenes of all of them together!!

still fun!!! i just wish we can get more of all of them together, that would be perfect, but i'm loving the reggie & hannah duo!

when no one else gets me, i know c. k. mcdonnell and the stranger times will get me.

not dnf-ing this, just putting on hold until i get the audiobook, which is clearly the superior format for every michael schur book.

absolutely love their writing (and i knew i would because i loved how to be perfect, by mike schur) but at times it feels a little too american - like, was i supposed to know how baseball works? or american football?

they assumed their readers wouldn't know how a dart championship worked and so they explained the rules, but they didn't do the same with those and i was left just staring at the page being like ...sure

Framing illness as even involving morality seems to me a mistake, because of course cancer does not give a shit whether you are a good person. Biology has no moral compass. It does not punish the evil and reward the good. It doesn’t even know about evil and good.

god i hate elliot. i hate him with so much passion. he's fixed on these women being hookers when there's not a single thing pointing to this, and dismisses grace's great theory and the only lead to have so far.

landel putting up with him is also ridiculous. i get that he's a sargeant, but he's literally messing with the case because of what? because he hates women?

when you have the perfect suspect but the book is only ay 65%..... it's the mystery equivalent to when the couple gets together too early and you just know something is about to happen

didn't think i'd like this as much as i am! feels like watching an episode of law and order: svu.

i thought i'd be confused by the number of characters, but while i do think some of them are not necessary, i'm not confused either, so it's a win!
