The inspiration this trilogy had on the creation of A Song of Ice and Fire is becoming much more apparent. The common description is that these books were the bridge from LoTR’s high fantasy era to the more gritty modern era and that’s apt.

A book I probably would have never read if my Granny had not asked me to read it and told me I had two days to do so.

I have deliberately avoided studying Revelation for a long time. As a result, my eschatological views have been loose but framed by the premillennial dispensationalist way I was raised. The more I have read and thought the more I have come to adamantly disagree with that framework. Thus, I think it’s necessary to dive in to this book.

Let’s see if Malazan lives up to its reputation.

Sanderson has me hooked again.

I felt pretty good starting this since I didn’t have any distractions and then I received another Stormlight book for Christmas…not a good sign for this one.
