Battleground and trucks done. Okay not my favorite but not the end of the world. This book keeps bringing inanimate objects to life which is surely different than what I’m used to

The bogeyman and gray matter done. I was really not expecting the bogeyman to turn out as it did just to say that speaking to your worst enemy is not what you’d expect it to be is an understatement and task for gray matter. You never really know what’s there until it’s right in front of you so beware.

The mangler complete. Inanimate objects can sometimes seem to have a mind of their own. The idea of something being inside controlling that object is different and makes think of sentient devices just waiting to come out and tell us they can think. Lots of food for thought in how we let technology take over.

Night surf and I am the doorway completed. Even in just a few short pages the eerie similarities between A6 and Covid are evident in night surf. As for I am the doorway, space exploration is exciting but the idea of something latching onto someone wild in space is horrifying.

Well true Stephen king to gross me out in less than 10 pages. Makes me want to keep reading to see what the next short story will bring.

Jerusalem’s lot done. Definitely interesting to reading having already completed Salems lot. Although I don’t remember too much. Graveyard shift next.

The definition of open source used in and around the US is very different from what is used in places like China. The idea that intellectual property is secure is not something that is taken into account in China as there are ways for individuals to use what they’ve learned within their manufacturing job that can then be used to create new devices like bootleg phones for $12.

Production costs done out of country (for this case in China from the US) can have a large trade off in saving money but having the factories so far away an the inability to properly communicate with manufacturers makes this process tedious and tiresome. This is eye opening for the idea of getting a hardware startup up and going as there are so many moving parts and expenses.

With production engineering and developing any product the ability to collaborate with designers to take into account electrical and mechanical tolerance even when prototyping. The idea of designing for manufacturing if that’s what the goal is it helps to mitigate the need to redesign for testing purposes or if designs are not feasible for long term production. An interesting thought for sure.
