This is honestly one of the dumbest books I’ve ever read. Repetitive, a lot of TELLING, not SHOWING, and unrealistic dialogue.

Who the fuck makes out with a stake in the chest? Like… what? How the hell did this get a publishing deal?

The world building and magic system is a bit confusing but having read MANACLED, I know who the characters really are, what the word really is.

This book is not good. It’s like the author was just testing to cash in again on a series that’s pretty good. Glorified rape, incessantly calling the MFC “doll face”, and sick joy in being brutalized makes for a nauseous combination.

Author should have stopped with the last book.

I hate this already.

The whole innocent virgin turned nympho right after her brutal “deflowering” is wholly obnoxious. She goes from zero to double penetration in like a week? What the hell am I reading?

Three chapters in and the repetitive mentions of stabbing has clearly continued on form the first three books. 🙄 She and Kieran just need to fuck already. She clearly has a thing for him and I have a feeling she’s going to cheat on Cas WHILE HE IS IMPRISONED AND BEING TORTURED.

I’m 50 pages from the half-way point and finding it hard to stay focused on book. It’s lagging a little bit and Poppy’s petulance is becoming annoying. I need this bitch to start growing the fuck up.

Just finished Vance’s 3-page circle jerk of a Forward, on the surface, is pretty mild. definitely far from incendiary on first glance. It’s clear he’s counting on the reader’s ignorance of US History. But I’m well versed in both the Warren and Burger courts so it’s clear where this is going.zx

This book was reading at a solid 2.5 stars until chapter 15… where I am now. This is the DUMBEST SHIT THUS FAR. It’s like some 15YO porn-addicted kid is trying to write a porn script. This is stupid.

The housekeeper talking to Kayla about the house being haunted… and I swear if this is a modern-day version of THE OTHERS I’m going to be pissed.

I’m almost halfway through this book (page 169 of 355) and it doesn’t fit the description on the back of the book at all. You’re led to believe that this book is about corresponding with some dude through letters that she doesn’t know.

But so far it’s not.

It’s about a widow who starts a heated sexual relationship with her handyman. #Confused

This book is … laughable. At begging of book 3 and all these women need to invest in nipple covers… or padded bras. Every woman seems to walk around with “tight, puckered nipples”. That sounds painful. And the men? All have “incomparable cocks”. I don’t mind smutty books but there’s no middle ground in he smut world. They’re either good or eye-rolling. This isn’t good so far.
