Oh my… where to start. The “adventure” is utterly ridiculous. They are WALKING from town to town and NO ONE has heard about the scary black mist eating people. Like no couriers on horseback exist. The dialogue is cringe worthy. “You’re looking for a forger, eh?…” “Yes. I need some documents forged.” I don’t know the editor but they did a shit job. If “childhood friend” gets said again 🙄

First thoughts, it’s almost like the person who wrote the “Prelude” (epilogue) is a different person than who wrote the rest of the book. The prelude has none of the stuttering awkwardness that the first few chapters with Garth are filled with.
I’m really disappointed with the randomness of Garth’s decisions, one minute he seems like a capable young man, the next he’s doing what others tell him not to…
