the relationships in the book are v different. also glad someone finally brought his paper up again. i mean that’s his whole international persona. completely ignoring lowk makes no sense. for the record, i don’t think he’s wrong

slow getting into it. science is interesting. also feels like movie grace v stupid

oh good he’s not dead. still a pathetic simp though. love him🫶. emily eating down bad as per us. but ur gonna go back to the winter court??? to your fake ex?????? emmy u braver than me girl. doin all this just for chance to jump into hell lmao

it’s the final showdown!! stopping here because tour

WELCOME TO SIMP CITY! although we could really say that from the beginning of book 1. wendell is crushing HARD in this one though!!! we love to see it! a man who yearns is a man who earns!! and now they're getting married in a boat while sailing to certain doom. AH so cute and so them.

cozy fantasy maxxing atp imo. stakes went through the roof but my blood pressure is fine XD

Not a fan of politics in books, but I don’t mind it here

emily finding out her fiancee is an idiot and she’s probably going to have to do all the work lmaoooo

genuinely wondering if it was ever a good idea to overthrow the stepmother…

my money’s on erasmo as the killer. it’s giving “she lit up every room she walked into” it’s giving serial killer photographic memory.

a bit simplistic but i’m sure it’ll get real complicated soon

continuing mary’s journal. man this book takes a long time to say anything.

this book reads like poetry. just as beautiful, just as slogging to make any progress through. we’ve moved onto mom #2, mary pellam

just read about the mothers

okay maybe a plot is coming together. getting used to the writing style. i admit, i did skip ahead to see if it got interesting but i didn’t understand enough to answer that question…

some semblance of a plot forming…beautiful writing but takes forever to make a point. feels like the book is moving in slow-motion which would be fine every so often but like. it’s the whole time. like can we pick up the pace just a LITTLE.

only vibes. not really seeing hide nor hair of a plot…

confused.

It's the final countdown!!! Bruh thank fuck they kissed i was about to combust. the way everyone was just standing around watching mom and dad fight had me ROLLING. it's hilarious how it's come down to "we all know you're goo-goo ga-ga for each other it's just a matter of time" also love my super capable borderline mary sue queen. never change.

oof that twist got me. love how ilona pulls the strings together. i saw that honey badger reference!!

i think we have finally settled on a love interest??? first i thought it was gonna be everard and then solentine but i think it’s reynald. she keeps thinking about how hot he is anyways XD. this book fills the kate-shaped hole in my heart for sure.

Ayo this shit funny as hell i wonder how Dora’s wit will change once she gets her emotions back. Also loving the inclusion of the workhouses and the reality of their deplorable conditions. also elias breaking down on her shoulder…wahhh it’s okay baby boy somebody give this small chicken headpats…as i’m typing this i’m noticing a common thread in that my fave couples have a luo binge/shen qingqiu dynamic

Liking the author voice and portrayal of Dora’s curse

Still a fun casual read to pull out whenever I have a spare moment.

difficult read. also why are trials still going is this gonna be the whole book jeezus

draggging….probably won’t dnf but it’s gonna take me a while to finish this. probably a couple months. i’m just. so bored. (and annoyed because it’s perfectly in my genre but the author voice is giving me secondhand embarrassment which makes me not want to read it even more)

struggling not to dnf rn
