In the 2nd section of the book Lewis teaches Christianity is about God the supreme creator, who gave mankind free will and allowed mankind and the world to become corrupted. He states that Jesus’ death is at the core of Christianity, but is unwilling to state that Jesus’ death is a substitute for mankind, taking on God’s anger at our rebellion. He says this is a theory. I disagree. Scripture is clear on this.

Book 1 (Chapters 1-5) speaks logically and philosophically about a “Moral Law”. Each chapter ends with a short summary of the progress of the argument thus far, with a final conclusion at the end of chapter 5 that: “Christianity simply does not make sense until you face the sort of facts I have been describing”. I’m not sure I agree with this statement, but I see why he takes his time to set out the logic.
