Honestly I wish there was a little more build-up to “that” scene, but still good ofc.

However, the SHOWER SCENE??!!!? That is the most intimate thing I’ve read, I might have even liked that more. I want to reread it over and over, ugh makes me want to cry, so so good

I’m having an issue with how this book is laid out. One chapter will end sort of cliff hanger-y, but then the next chapter will start someplace totally random, only to then come back to the cliffhanger part in the middle? Idk, not a fan

The tension is not tension-ing enough, FMC is annoying asf, so far the other book in the series is better

Realized this trilogy is the prequel to the Throne of the Fallen book I read. I had this book like 5 years ago but only read one chapter and gave up. Trying again to understand more of the story !

Honestly it’s giving Zodiac Academy/fanfic vibes… but we’ll see

I love how slow and steady this story is, it makes it really easy to relate to these characters !

So the deception begins (very Count of Monte Cristo vibes)

When you think of this book/adventure you assume it’s about Odysseus’ journey. But that’s like not even 80 pages of the whole book, it’s mainly about him reclaiming his home and family once he IS back (which is what I’m about to read next!)

I’m discovering that this book is actually just a bunch of retellings of Odysseus’ journey; from his son, Athena, and Odysseus himself.

Finished Telemachus’ (Odysseus’ son) part, now on to the true adventure

Definitely getting into the flow of how this book is written. There’s certain aspects that make it stand out as Poetry. There is clear repetition in things such as offerings to the gods, anything that has a ritual or anything formal is basically written the same.

The detail of everyone’s name/title is a little exhausting. Like you don’t need to say “blank, son of blank, god of blank” every time.

Okay, I finally finished the introduction (haven’t even started the actual book yet.)

However, I feel like I’m an expert on this. I know the general series of events and people (for the most part… there’s like 500 people I swear). I’ve watched some refresher videos explaining the Iliad, so I know the background.

Wish me luck! I need to read ~15 pages a day to finish this by the movie

Honestly I’m more into this than I was expecting. Bringing back my love/interest/curiosity of Greek mythology, but in a ‘real’ way. So far there have been some very strange moments, but it makes sense in the context? Idk

My only qualm with this book thus far is sometimes a lack of detail with what’s going on. If a scene changes the scenery is well described sometimes and my mental image is confused
