interesting so far!!! the first 16 chapters are more simply an introduction and world building. i haven’t read anything that requires a ton of world building in more of a fantasy sense in a while, so i was a bit nervous about the level of detail i’d need to learn for the intro of the series. i think it’s doing a good job at easing you into it, and i definitely am interested!!

this is so boring. i’m not enjoying the back and forth povs of an entitled white 40yo millionaire lady and this constantly screwed over 16yo girl.

wow. i feel broken and tense one minute and the next i’m tossed between the most caring and understanding characters in the world. right now nate is full of anger and so frightful of losing stas. been there done that. anastasia is the only level headed one here. everyone else needs to go to therapy too!

it gets rather dark here. it feels like it’s coming from a familiar place. it’s visceral and deep. after several suicide attempts, esther is misbehaving at the psych wards and keeps getting moved. it’s fascinating to see the inside of someone’s brain at this time, the carelessness of consequence.

why is this 2 wildly different perspectives? 40 yo uptight rich white lady and trailer park 16yo “bad girl”

there’s so much depth and vulnerability that i really appreciate. really addictive. i’m absolutely in love. the only thing i get annoyed by is the overuse of some repetitive descriptive phrases between characters.

messy😛😛 i already am enjoying the plot! we understand the stakes and understand the weight of the issue!! 🙏

very suicidal but it’s interesting hearing her describe the blood as fruit.

for this being considered a classic, i’m surprised how easily i can sink into this one. usually i find classics difficult to read, as i don’t normally enjoy over-academic phrasing that makes me read the same paragraph 3x or more to comprehend it. i like this story so far, but it’s laid out in a way that each chapter is a little disjointed in what characters are being interacted with. starting on psych part now!

i like love. loving and understanding people is important. discovering and opening the book on hate is an important conversation.

lot of thinking, aristotle. thinking of people as people is a beautiful thing.

really so thoughtful and brimming with love of people and family and forgiveness and introspection. rn it’s about ari’s discussing relationships and coming out, but there was a camping trip and now it’s over. i wonder what the next “plot” will be because the only upcoming thing seems like school in a week in the book.

this book has tied so nicely together at the end. yujun had told the truth and everything ended how it should. i’m so proud of wansu and her embracing her past. i’m proud of them being able to let go of the dad. i’m proud of hara standing up for herself and finds a place, makes a home for herself, and makes a career for herself. amazing. will reread and reannotate.

it’s so balanced by being an omniscient perspective book, which is a shift from the first book. i can already tell how much growth, emotion, and hardships there may be in this book

so far, i’ve been enjoying it. the mom elizabeth is very bright and definitely focused as a women in stem! i was surprised how well the author is making us feel her anger when it comes to gender roles. as a woman in stem, as a “widow”, as a girlfriend, as a single mother, as a woman. i’m really bonded to 630 and mad 😍

i’m listening to this via audiobook, and i’m planning on listening to the book analysis that i also found on spotify. the plot is pretty engaging and chapters 11-12 started a shift in being a little more serious and started a twist with the guy from her past returning!

so steamy, so full of warmth and love. so genuine, emotional, real, vulnerable, true. i love it all so much. fear of losing someone after a perfect “finally” has come after years of yearning that could break your heart in of itself .. the anxiety and constant reminders and aching for comfort.
