Information-dense but beginner-friendly for economics. However, I did have the realisation that while I am enjoying this book, I have become my father — the jury is still out on how I feel about that.

Admittedly, you need context of Afghanistan’s long history with Islam and political turmoil to understand this book. Luckily, I have a degree in Middle Eastern politics. Even with my knowledge, I’ve found myself googling questions so this book is not an introduction to Afghanistan. However, still very insightful and a little mad that Stewart walked across the country.
