Like the first sip of water after food poisoning. The mouth begs to be quenched meanwhile consuming more than an ounce of liquid leads to intense oral and nasal vomiting; so, when the sickness has run its course and your stomach rests easy once again, you put the liquid goodness to your lips—and God is good once again. That’s East of Eden on the first read, and I get that same quenching sensation on the second.

Hi. Had to slow down on the reading due to school and COVID.

Finished the first part. I can’t say I’m impressed from our great Jameson but it’s far more enjoyable then Dubliners.
