I have never annotated a book so feverishly. This book might as well be my second diary.

This book keeps blowing me away. Hardy's writing is exactly what I needed to get back into fiction.

Like the first sip of water after food poisoning. The mouth begs to be quenched meanwhile consuming more than an ounce of liquid leads to intense oral and nasal vomiting; so, when the sickness has run its course and your stomach rests easy once again, you put the liquid goodness to your lips—and God is good once again. That’s East of Eden on the first read, and I get that same quenching sensation on the second.

Currently on the “…Bible” part. It doesn’t contain a lot of useful information, just common sense covered up in figurative language and analogy.
