There’s a lot of new characters. People are literally a bunch of lairs. Everyone has secrets, and Adam is hiding so much from Sarah. How do you genuinely expect your wife to get you off a murder charge if you’re lying through your teeth constantly? Insanity. Small town police stations are so suss. Also, what’s Rebecca’s story? ADAM DID NOT TELL SARAH ABOUT HER, A REPORTER.

Wow, this book is so captivating. The writing is so good. The thing about having books written in first person is that you never know if they’re telling the truth. The facts are blended in with opinion, so it’s like find Easter eggs with each chapter. I think Sheriff Steven’s was also fucking Kelly. I feel so bad for Sarah. IMAGINE.

Why do man even…? Honestly, that wasn’t even a perfect marriage to begin with. I love when books give both perspectives. Definitely an intense book read for a cruise, but you just picture yourself at the scene. Also, sus that he was a junior in college when he met her (a collage freshman). The age gap isn’t weird, but mentally is SO DIFFERENT.

Jim’s wife died. I love how Lucy told Olive about how everyone has stories, and how one small interaction with a stranger can make your whole day. People come and go in your life, and, sometimes, a brief interaction with a stranger happens for a reason.

I really like this book so far. I love the message of how so many people have stories, and that we are all alone in this world. There’s so many characters in this book, but I think that’s the point. Everyone’s stories are different, and you truly never know someone’s full story. I’m at the part where Bob met with Matt.

Lucy met Olive. Olive’s mom’s previous life is lowkey sad? Been so bad at reading this book. Re-read the first couple pages three times. 💀

Literally can’t put this book down. I think I resonate with it, because it’s set in the DMV and it’s about taking the work of a dead Chinese author. I’m getting so irritated with June. Who’s Athena’s ghost? What is truly the line between culture appreciation and appropriation?

I can’t believe I put off reading this book for so long. “Rockville” mentioned.

Wow. Did the old man actually see the ex-wife arguing with Morgan? Does Sadie suffer from something mentally that we just don’t know yet, because she’s narrating? I’m curious who Mouse is. I need to learn more about Imogen.

The suspense is building. I love it! What happened in Chicago? Did Otto do anything? My biggest guess is Sadie has a split personality. I’m guessing she suffers from multiple personality disorder, and that Camille is actually her alter ego. I’ll see if I’m right.
