I still find Adam Trask to be hard to pity to be honest. It’s actually perplexing to me.

If you told me when I started this book that I’d like and pity Charles more than Adam, I’d have thought you crazy.

Also, this book has a surprisingly high body count. One fell victim to a disease brought on by occupation, one dies of natural causes, one by manslaughter, and one by suicide. That’s honestly so many deaths it’s crazy. And another is on the precipice.

I think Margaret’s lot in life for how her family neglects her is an unfortunate yet understated plight.

The fact that boy mom have existed as a stereotype for this long is honestly hilarious

I do find myself particularly partial to dynamics in which characters dislike each other before falling.

Mr. Thornton has a particularly sad backstory that explains his character well.

The early proposal was so crazy that I wasn’t sure if he was going to be the male lead.

I find myself in agreeance with my 13-year-old mind. I rather hate Edmund, I quite like Henry Crawford, and I much pity Fanny Price.

This is a particularly challenging read especially with awareness of the fate that befalls the previously mentioned three in the conclusion of this novel.

I think that Willoughby confessing his misery is further proof of the selfishness that binds his every action and character.
