Sandra Octaviani is reading One Hundred Dogs and Counting: One Woman, Ten Thousand Miles, and A Journey into the Heart of Shelters and Rescues
I picked up this book as I adopted my first rescue puppy, to add to the 5 rescue cats I adopted over the past 2 years. It really gave me the motivation and validation I needed to know that the effort and sometimes isolation and exhausion that comes with an expanding pet family is worthwhile and makes a small difference.

Sandra Octaviani is reading The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl
I have to admit, this was a tough slog to get through and there were too many characters that I got lost halfway through the book. Nevertheless, it brings to life one of the worst environmental disasters in human history and its social, health, and political consequences

Sandra Octaviani is reading Life in the Key of G
I enjoyed earning about the thought process and stories behind Kenny g’s hit songs. This book is really about his approach to his art and work ethic. It does not delve into his personal life, other than a few snippets about his childhood, background, and graciously, his approach to parenting.

Sandra Octaviani is reading The Demon of Unrest: A Saga of Hubris, Heartbreak, and Heroism at the Dawn of the Civil War
Another masterpiece by Erik Larson describing the sequence of events leading to the outbreak of the civil war and the characters driving them.
