What a strange book

Wow everybody sucks, I am curious to see why that man was writing “ a clock work orange” is that just the name of the book because that scene sets the tone and theme of the book or will this be important later?

I’m enjoying it so far, the slang has been pretty jarring but I think I’m starting to grasp it. The narrator and his buddies are some real pieces of shit though.

Book is great so far, I really enjoyed old majors speech. I heard this book was about communism but outside of the overuse of the word “comrade” I’m not seeing how it is.

God this book is a roller coaster. Only 1 (very long) chapter to go and I’m thinking for some reason about how I should reach out to my uncle and tell him I love him even though he’s certifiable. I hope he’s good. He’d probably be glad to hear I’m getting good at guitar.

Holy shit. I go back and forth between feeling terrible for Andy and hating him. The reunion with Jen ending with her telling him he was her lost weekend was gut wrenching. Poor guy. You do not recover from that.

God I feel bad for Sophie. Andy really is a piece of shitttt

The whole thing with Sophie is a little off putting. I like her character, but the age gap, the way it seems like Andy is using her as an outlet to get over Jen, the whole thing is just gross. Andy is a man child. It is a little hard to read at times but I’m still loving it!

I’ve made it to the autumn section! It’s been pretty mundane for a bit. I’m hoping to start learning more soon

Read a lot so far today, I hope to finish this book by tonight but lemme start from the beginning of today’s reading; Andy lasting 3 days in the house boat is absolutely hilarious. The whippits scene was pretty funny, I’m curious about what happened after Andy blacked out. The plotline with tash was interesting, was she a catfish? I LOVE MORRIS I LOVE MORRIS I LOVE MORRIS Bro is freezing potatoes to “prepare”

Still loving this book, however, I’m finding Andy more and more pathetic. That said it is very easy to spiral and god I’m sure that gets worse with age.

I’m enjoying this a lot so far, I can’t really find any major flaws in any of the characters so far. It seems like it’s gonna slowly unravel why Jen left Andy. I like Andy’s mom a lot. Throwing the perfume in the canal was interesting too. I like the writing style a lot. It’s very easy to read.

Block: a man destroyed by bureaucracy. Dr huld and him both seemed fine and normal but in a room together you see block acting like a dog and dr huld reveling in his control over this poor man.

I like block a lot, I’m curious if dismissing dr huld will be a good idea, he seems against it as if it isn’t one. Nice slow build up to the end. That said I don’t see how his case can wrap up in the next 40 pages…

Somehow it’s not surprising that there are court offices in almost every attic. I wonder how much the painter will try and charge him.

I think K is gonna attempt to get an actual acquittal instead of protraction or perceived acquittal. And honestly he’s most likely going to fail.

Learned a bit I guess about what’s going on but am left with even more questions. Why is the uncle so unsurprised by all this? Why is this mysterious prosecution known to seemingly everyone but K? Why did Leni tell him to confess rather than defend?

The flogger. I’ve been very skeptical that anything in this book is magic or “impossible” in nature. The attic tipped me off a bit I think, but now I’m pretty convinced, there is no logical reason they should be in the closet still a whole day later. Almost like yesterday didn’t happen? More and more questions and still no answers. I can tell already this book is gonna get 5 stars.

I’m still deeply confused by the strange ways of the organization that is prosecuting Josef K. What is the deal with that guys wife? The scene in the examination/ interrogation room was fun, the too animated crowd was interesting. What I find really strange though, is the attack K had in the attic. It doesn’t really feel as if the excuse about the air is what was really going on.

Still so lost… do Josef and fraulein bürstner have a thing?

I guess I’ll learn more in the next chapter.

Why is everyone but him in on it?

Why does everyone seem so weird?
- the inspector was fidgety and acted like a child with adhd while also seeming calculating and aware.
- the 2 guards are way too nice.

Okay Toru definitely wants to kill Honda and part of me hopes he does. But I feel like if he learns of Honda’s connection to his past lives that will go out the window. Not from sentimentality but from a lack of interest in anything so trivial.

The chapter taken from Toru’s diary was a wild ride. He talks about deciding to murder Honda I think when he turns 20. He cheats on his fiancé for the soul purpose of hurting her, and then after achieving that uses his fiancé to hurt the mistress. Bro is a psycho!

Okay finally we get to see what is wrong with Toru and I never would have guessed he is a sociopath lol. He likes to hurt people. Physically or emotionally. It seems he tries to do it without getting caught/being sneaky which is funny.

The adoption is being made official. Toru has an iq of fucking 159… dude is a genius and does nothing but watch the sea.

Honda told Keiko about the cycle of rebirths, absolutely shocked she believed him

Honda met Toru and has apparently already decided to adopt him after seeing the moles.

It seems like they are the same person.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention in my progress, Toru has already been revealed to have the moles on his side!!! wtf??
