Sharon is reading The Angel and the Sword (The Guardian Angel #2)
Bought this years ago for my teen son. I was going through books to declutter, and discovered it. Pleasant surprise!

Sharon is reading Run, Rose, Run
I definitely admire Dolly Parton as a one million person, entertainer, personality, and I thoroughly enjoy the writing of James Patterson.
However, there was definitely a good bit of choppiness in both the writing and the plot of Run Rose Run. I also wasn't particularly fond of the character development. The ending felt rushed, & I found AnnieLee and unlikable character.

Sharon is reading In the Midst of Innocence
Loved this. The characters were realistic. The premise, set in Depression era Tennessee, and Chicago brought out the stark contrast of haves & have nots ..

Sharon is reading The Magician’s Nephew (Chronicles of Narnia, #6)
Oh, my, what a lark! It's been so many years since I've read these! So interesting how, if you read these at different stages of your life, there's another layer, a new enlightenment.

Sharon is reading A Man Called Ove
So excellent! I had thought I had read this when it first came out, but maybe it came out in such a strange part of my life that I really didn't remember it. I went and saw the movie and decided I would "reread" the book. Oh, I just love the Swedish version. I have to admit that the movie was pretty true to the book, but the author is really a masterful writer.

Sharon is reading Seed of Doubt (Father Dowling, #16)
I've had two different friends who've read these books for years. And then I found this one on one of my bookshelves! Thoroughly enjoyed it. I was suspicious about who the murderer was, about halfway through.

Sharon is reading Enemies of the People: My Family's Journey to America
Quite a different sort of book that I usually read, but astonishing. I have a friend who lived through these events, as a child, and so now I have a much more in-depth perspective than her description of what it was like to be Jewish and surviving both the Nazis and the Cold War Hungarian Communist Terror State. Rather, both my friend and Kati Marton were born shortly after the WW II liberation of Hungary, but their

Sharon is starting Boo Hiss (The Boo Series #3)
Although these books are really kind of silly, and sometimes I get a little impatient with how clueless some of the characters are, I guess I have to admit that they are a guilty pleasure, maybe a silly escape. Though some are clueless, almost each and every one of the characters are believable. And their silliness is flushed out by very real human emotions. Probably not for people who can't tolerate Christian musing

Sharon is reading The Great Gatsby
Definitely a different perspective now than when I last read it 40 something years ago. However, I don't care for Daisy or Tom anymore than I did back then. I do find them all more interesting to observe. If I remember correctly, I skimmed it in complete boredom, when I wasn't being enraged at their racism.
