Almost halfway through and nothing has happened 🙃 I trust Devney Perry though, so this better be an epic build up!

I am enjoying this so much more than I thought I would! I literally put off reading it for like 10 years 😬

They literally have zero chemistry. Not even the "I hate you, but secretly want you " kind.

“Mommy hold you” shattered my freaking heart. Still crying over it.

“Making her look like a gothic angel”. She’s wearing faded jeans, white FILAs, a pink hoodie, a gray ball cap, & has “long golden hair”… maybe gothic angel is open to interpretation. Like way open.

“No Tex Mex here”. If a hard shell taco is involved, it is immediately TexMex. & they only have fish tacos, authentic Mexican food rarely uses fish. Starting to wondering if it was meant sarcastically.

A few chapters in and I’m already regretting having made this my first read of the year. Also extremely regretting having spent my own money on this since I couldn’t get it on KU or Libby.

I was really hesitant to pick this one up because I LOVE Devney Perry books, but Coach and Blitz have been some of my least favorite by her. Add in the surprise pregnancy trope, that I do like but just barely, and yeah that made me a bit hesitant. However I’ve really been enjoying this one so far!

I hate the friends to lovers trope. ESPECIALLY childhood friends to lovers. But I am putting my faith in Karla Sorenson because if anyone can make me enjoy it at least a little bit, it will be her!

Honestly I would have taken all these wedding related disasters as a sign to not get married lol

Thinking about DNFing and I’m 10 pages in… it’s that bad. And it’s not fully the author’s fault because a large part of what’s wrong with it is the editing, or lack thereof.

I can’t tell if this is suppose to be enemies to lovers cuz it keeps getting mentioned that he hates her… but he has no reason to do it’s just weird.

Books like this are so hard for me to get through because it’s hard to accept that things like this happen in real life.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when they say each other’s names too often. This guy says “Emmy” pretty much every sentence.

Everything is too convenient and unfortunately the MC and love interest don’t have any chemistry. Kinda disappointed so far tbh.

The main character and love interest have the personality of a wet mop. I so badly want to get to the actual plot of the book because it seems like it may be interesting, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep forcing myself to read this.

So she’s going to leave her life behind and move back home just because her brother said so? This is reading like a Wattpad fanfiction of some sort.

I am just not having good luck with books lately.
