that randomly became so beautifully written and wonderfully deep and human?? hello?? why were those the best couple chapters i've read thus far lol i really enjoyed this section

guys it didn't take me two hours to read 40 pages i swear i kept getting up to do other things in between reading (also my copy has far less than 131 pages like it says on here lol)

not to be dramatic but chapter 6 of this book might be the saddest thing ive ever read like poor toothless :(

im liking this book but it feels like those pick me "im soooo skinny" girl memes. except reversed. it feels like every other page this guy's like "im so huge it's crazy" or "his gaze lingered on me a little longer because i was just so gargantuan" (this is an actual paraphrase from an actual line i just read). like bro i get it you told me from page 1 you're really tall and heavy i GET ITTTTTT

just ignore all the attempts i made at logging my progress for this one omg it's because i'd accidentally started logging the audiobook instead

aaron the supposed bully is actually quite silly once he's outside of his toxic friend group and has now met god. reminds me of zuko becoming a silly, awkward little guy after deciding not to be evil anymore

this one is so fast paced all of a sudden!! it's genuinely a page turner! im kind of forcing myself to stop reading even though i want to finish it. but im getting sleepy

another instance in which hiccup is endlessly relatable: "Hiccup was feeling nervous about so many things it was difficult to concentrate on which worry to worry about most."

chat don't judge me and my eight pages i had a spider in the room situation going on while i was reading. also this book was published in 2018 and i bet it's been sitting on my shelf since then too. im glad to finally be reading it!

it's so cute that fishlegs has been promoted to hiccup's best friend since the last book :-) also the first chapter made me suddenly remember the whole plot point about hiccup being left handed so now im #intheknow
