Idk about the pacing. The writing is like a culmination of bullet points "and then he," over and over (I don't mean this literally btw) everything feels so abrupt? The characters introduced have zero presence and I don't feel connected to Ronny or even a little bit intrigued by Ben. I will continue though this might change it's still pretty early

It's crazy how scared I am of Cathy. Especially when she's forced to do something she doesn't want to do, I just immediately fear for the characters because Cathy will get back at them viciously. I feel real fear 😭

Chapter 14 was the funniest thing I've read in a long time. These types of chapters honestly feel like Steinbeck's version of a beach episode. I'm a big fan of that

The easiest way to scare me is by having a character doing something completely normal like reading a book or listening to music, and then having it distort. I am so terrified but oh so intrigued

Was hoping to get really f*cked up with this book, and it has made me cry that one time but I'm getting bored. I'm also dreading some character deaths. And I'm looking forward to the end? I heard the two limbs meet or something like that

I love Kazuo Ishiguro so much and just reading the first few pages makes me nostalgic for his writing. Can't wait to get deeper into the book
