This is so boring and I do not care about any of them. People swear it gets good, but I don't know how they found the fortitude to get there.

This is tedious. I am not wildly invested.

Another narrator who should be charged with, found guilty of, and jailed for thesaurus abuse. I don't know how much of this I can take.

The language is so bloated and purple and 10th grader in her Les Mis phase that I do not know if I can keep going.

Oh mercy, Enneagram stuff. Y'all! I need HELP. I need some kind of definitive NON-RICHARD-ROHR materials on whether or not this whole deal is occult nonsense.

This narrator is not great. What is the deal? Did they run it through AI?

So this was a random audio library grab and I didn't look at any of the descriptions and I had no idea what it was about or why I'd listed it as to-read or anything. So I was taken aback at the spooky content, but it's turning out to be very enjoyable and occasionally I laugh out loud. Also, the narrator sounds like a real person who hasn't been edited into AI-dom. He smacks his lips occasionally and it's charming.

God Almighty can this man string words together!

This is on hold for 5-ish hours while I listen to the McWhorter I've had on hold for 14 months and finally got. And this is good because I am ready to actually go through the phone into the universe of the book and sock some assholes directly in their asshole noses. And then also literally kick Martha in the ass with my foot.

Yeah, I just don't think an 8 year old could come up with some of this stuff. So... who else is in on it? If there's nobody else in on it.... Just. Ellipses.

I don't know exactly where I am in the book, but I did not see that post-wedding Oh Shit coming. I thought Harter was going to be a bad guy perpetually.

Between finishing The Dark Tower and this, the end of the year has way too much horror and grossness. I gotta get outta here.

IDK if it's 150, but it's still early on. Just getting good in the reunion, post-birth and Mordred has eaten Walter o'Dim. And I just do not want to finish this. I've read it once. I don't remember all the details except I know Stuttering Bill will save the day and the ending-ending, but I just do not want to keep on. In fact, he keeps using the word "guile" and that seems to be a sign.

"Seax" is pronounced something like "say-ax." I looked it up. I'm still having trouble not reading it "seeks."

Severe-- severely severe-- deju vu started on page 220 and stuck around through that and the next chapter. Neither goodreads nor the JCLC has a record of me having read this before. But I was dizzy with it.

This book is at least 25% too long. Also, this narrator is killing me. I really meant to do this whole series before the end of the year, but I don't know how much more I can take. Maybe the back three will be someone else.

This narrator and his idiotic Gone-with-the-Wind accents for everybody not Eddie or Roland are killing me.

I think this is the first Packer I've ever read. Is the changing POV mid-paragraph always a thing? It's so distracting!

This is so boring. I'm going to take it with me to a county office and see if it finishes well or if literally staring at nothing will be preferrable.

Just kidding, I'm taking two other books.

Bindle! The word bindle, which I only technically learned two weeks ago, appears in this novel. Two uses of a rare word in two different books within three weeks. Does make one question the universe!!

I said I was going to go the rest of 2024 without more of this series and I lied, I guess.

This is getting cheesy and info dump-y to the point it's difficult to enjoy.

So refreshing to read a book labeled "laugh out loud funny" and then actually laugh out loud.

This has the potential to go from "oh cute" to "ugh tweee" real quick.

1. Two books in a row by Alabama authors. What are the odds?
2. Wow, this is repetitive.
3. Also, written in the present tense. Very awkward.

Honestly, I keep wondering at his use of "octopuses." I know this is a gold-medal pedant thing, but every time I stop and go, "Normal people say octopuses, Sarah. NORMAL."
