I can't stop reading but I'm also disappointed by some of the turns of the stories. they could have done sth more interesting but ended up on the predictable

I really hoped to see this this series get better because I enjoyed the overall plot but it's so repetitive and is so annoying how Rosalind is constantly a victim

2 chapters in and now I remember why it took me so long to pick up book 2: the heroine is extremely passive/victimistic in everything she does and I don't know if I can handle another 500 pages of the same things 🫠

I hate that she's never fully honest with him.
Daniel deserves so much better

Alixis is so annoying is killing me. I don't get how you can be so brainwashed and detached from reality at thirty fuckin eight and think that Daniel is "a kid" at 28. everytime she keeps repeating that her relationship with Daniel is hopeless I just want to shake her and scream.
I like that she kinda put the effort to learn basic adult things (even if we're only told that) but I still find her pathetic most times

I know there's no right o wrong way to react to abuse but the FMC doesn't really thinks/acts like one after the first chapter. like I wouldn't be so cool about all the violence she's subjected by strangers just because in the end "she likes it). I think it's poor characterization.
same goes for the mmcs they are all cardboard psychos. they're thoughts are so childish and their emotional dept inexistent....

for now I'm not really invested yet. idk if it's the audiobook in single narration (and the very think british accent ) or what but I can't get into it and it's a bit disappointing. I don't hate the characters so I'll stick to it for a while and hope to change my mind

I wanted to like this book but the heroine is making it impossible. how are you willing to marry a man who made you feel like shit 99% of the time since you've known him? we're 60% in and she's still thinks like she's going to/wants to marry him and it's completely unbelievable. I could get past it at the begging because it could've been part of her character growth journey but she's still the same doormat

ok first Freida book and up until now it's a very easy read, so it's keeping me
however even if I'm not a thriller expert everything seems too obvious since the beginning so I truly hope she'll prove me wrong and shock me by the end of this (it probably won't happen but ok).

I'll be honest I'm not digging the pregnancy trope (especially when it's supposed to be her moment back at the Olympics) so I'm going to take a break for a while. I'll still come back soon to it because I can't wait to get to Luna's story (she's my favorite of the new gen and I'm super curious about her pov). Also Donnelly gives me such hurt comfort vibes and I really want to see him finding his safe place!!
