I am bothered by the fact that the author is trying to say that babies are a badge of honor. But if that was the case they would have been monitored for pregnancy and separated immediately. Given special foods and monitored throughout everything. Not left to rot in a pen outside.

I bought this as a romance. I am about an hour in and so far I am not impressed. Aliens from space have invaded. They killed the men and raped the women. Now a little over two years later they are rounding up the women that had children from their rapes and want them to make more babies. Babies are a badge of honor. But they only seem to have male babies. And non of the aliens know what to do with a baby.

Three pages in and Granny has admitted that she has killed people in the past.

OK so I am roughly 1/4 of the way done with this book and to be honest the only character I like is the grandmother.

Background of the story is that after a one night stand Amy's mom ends up pregnant. They don't get married. Ron(Amy's Dad) is from Israel Amy's mom is from Chicago. Amy lives with her mom and for the most part her dad only comes around for birthdays. Now he has decided to bond with his daughter.

It is taking me forever to read this story. Not because it isn't good. It is. It makes me laugh. It makes me root for the lovebirds but I am constantly afraid that the other shoe is going to drop and I will be hurt at the loss of their budding love.

It was interesting. Definitely a different way to view the zombie genre. Josh and his friend firecracker play online zombie hunters. Josh gets recruited to play IRL. Josh learns the hard way that it's not just a game. Loosing new friends and perhaps unleashing a new zombie terror into the world. I was disappointed with the sudden ending. Overall it was a decent read.

70 pages in. I don't understand how readers say this isn't a stand alone. The kid can talk to dead people or at least the energy they leave behind. He helped solve a kidnapping/murder of a class mate but using that ability. The way the story is told is slightly off putting but I think that just takes a little getting used to. So far I like the characters and I think that it will be a good story.
