Tetsu Helpriver
Tetsu Helpriver is finished with The Unbearable Lightness of Being
I'm on the final stretch, 25 more pages to go. This is going to be my first time reading a novel of over 460 pages in French.

Unsolicited self-exposing journal: What if my superficial obsession with social justice was a reflection/manifestation of my own internal ego (trauma and complex)? What if I'm using social causes as a pretext to not face my own voice by believing I'm a "good person"?

I'm going through an internal earthquake with tsunami of nihilism, self-deprecation, and anxiety. And I don't know what to do...

Tetsu Helpriver is 30% done with The Unbearable Lightness of Being
I'm on page 137 (the book is 450 pages long), and it takes so much time to make progress because I need to check what the words mean in French. But overall I'm enjoying reading this novel a lot, I think I have a lot to analyze and contemplate - and I'm not even half way through

In the milieu of "achievement society", I'm reading this book for a distraction...The book has been interesting, it captures the anxiety and depression that came with freedom in modernity. I used to like existentialist ideas, but now I'm not sure for many reasons. We are often told (and telling ourselves) to dream big and make a big difference, but I'm exhausted to the bone. I hope to get some insights from this.

Being at Sciences Po makes me wonder what people mean when they say we're smart. Are we working for the good in the world or for the states...It's probably time to read Eichmann in Jerusalem...
