Just finished, “The Alchemist.” What a wonderful story! It’s not as deeply developed in its horror or plot as it could have been, but the twist at the end is quite effective. I’m also enjoying the “accessible literary” prose, as I call it.

This isn’t a new “I read more,” I just wanted to say that “The Beast in the Dark” is a great first story. It sets up Lovecraft’s tone wonderfully.

Going good so far. Prose is mostly easy, though I get lost easily if I’m tired.

Finished part 1. Great exposition, already creeping me out as I slowly realize all the things that are lining up. Good read!

This book is extraordinarily enthralling. I’m forcing myself to put it down before I continue reading on.

There is a certain degree of horror to this, especially when he has to act in such an unnatural way just to not get abused. I mean, he’s literally forced to have sex with Nova while three equally intelligent creatures watch.

Overall, this is wildly thought provoking! Starting part 2 tomorrow :)
