Tell me why it took until the end of chapter 12 for something twisty to be revealed.

Why are some of the perspectives in first person and others in third? I don't love that.

So far the present-day storyline is not nearly as compelling as the one set in the past, but that's pretty much par for the course in books like these.

I hope the author doesn't take this book's GR rating to heart, because all those one star reviews are DEAD WRONG.

So is the woman on the cover supposed to be Calpurnia? Who describes herself as plump and plain? Is this just a typical publisher refusal to put fat bodies on covers, or is she gonna be revealed to be "beautiful all along?"

I'm gonna be mad about it either way.
