Hi. So 48-50% is the the hammer coming down after knowing about this part of Seb’s past since the early part of the book. Even having a bit of preparation as a reader omnisciently looking at the scene could not have prepared anyone for how this was written. Sensitive material indeed but I think masterfully written about 🥲

I feel like I should slow down on this one bc I can see how this train (of a plot and story) is barreling towards emotional damage…. But it’s just so good
The pacing so far has been incredibly captivating — I love an academic setting AND there’s a good balance between characters, backgrounds, relationships, magic systems, world building, mysteries. Ugh ok I keep reading now :)

I started this book a little over 2.5 hours ago and I think I’ll finish it tomorrow.

For as looooong as the first book in the series felt, this is the opposite. So much has happened and the impending swirling conflicts leave so many questions 😮‍💨
