I mean, it's not that I don't like it. I'm just still not sure what it's about.

My edition has 461 pages, so not as far along as it seems. I am ambivalent on this book so far. Maybe I haven't read enough period Victorian literature.

Ugh, you're kidding me...it's 12/27 and I've read 96 books.

How can I NOT go for 100?

Listen, setting my reading goal at 24 was the best thing I've done in years. Now instead of feeling like I didn't read much in February, I'm like HEY I'M 16 BOOKS AHEAD!

I really wanted to get to 100 books for the year, but it doesn't look like I'll make it (unless I go check out some picture books). Oh well! Onward and upward for 2022!

Ughhh I really need to go to the gym now. The only things getting me there? The fact that I need to live what I tell my kid about how exercise is really about showing up even when you don't feel like it...and that I will read my crazysauce alien romance novel on the treadmill. What will happen next in this nutso, very-bad-yet-somehow-compelling sf romance novel?

Will I read #3? Only if #2 improves significantly. It's not bad by any means, but it's lacking the crazysauce of the first one that really kept me hooked (and caring).

DEFINITELY not for middle school book clubs.

And tbh, I'm not loving it.

Done updating!! I am officially caught up for 2019.

Not going to be ok for book clubs is my strong prediction. I could DNF but I do want to know what happens, so will probably keep reading.

Done updating library e-books--working my way through actual checkouts now. I'm working backwards for that, too, and I'm already up to February.

What's left? Books I bought for kindle and book club books that weren't library checkouts or ebooks. I think my total will probably end up being around 100-105 for the year.

I'm caught up with e-books from the library through the beginning of March...and there's not that much more to add, because it looks like I pretty much didn't read any e-books from the library in January. Weird. Up next is my Kindle account--it'll be much less work, because I buy much less than I borrow. Ready for a break now.

Working backwards--I'm caught up through about halfway through June on library ebooks.

I am LOVING this book. I haven't enjoyed a scifi/ romance this much in perhaps ever.

It's not as good as a good Miles V but close. And it's more romantic than most of those, though not (so far) traditionally romantic.

I think I may be done with my 2017 reviews...checked library receipts, book club list, and Manage My Kindle. So--tentatively, anyway, I'm finished.

I think I am currently 5 behind for 2018. Oops...no, six.

sooooo boring

I hate this book soooo much. Hate! Hate! So many stupid made up words, so many pointless secrets, so many magical healings, so much fake danger.

Haaaaaaaate!

The problem is that I actively dislike the hero.

I think maybe we've finally arrived at the conflict.

I've figured it out. It's The Voyage of The Dawn Treader without Lucy or Jill. Or Eustace. Just tiresome Edmund and priggish Caspian.
