So good, even better than I expected it to be. I picked up this book because I wanted to read some poetry as a reference, as I’m attempting to make a few poems myself. These are more like “meditations” or short essays, but the words sing and I found myself pulled sharply into Joy’s narration.

The plot is starting to really ramp up. It’s like a combo of Percy Jackson and the Hunger Games.

I really like the world building so far and of course I always enjoy a new spin on Greek Mythology. But they’re falling into the romance trope of immediately being way too attracted to each other while also fighting for some reason. I really wish “enemies to lovers” romances would start off actually hating each other and develop from there :/

Morgan is kinda of weird and annoying. I didn’t realize until I opened Goodreads that this was the second book in the series. Maybe there is more backstory in the first one that explains their relationship a little bit more?

But why is he watching her from his window???

I’m so close to the end and I’m still enthralled. It’s taken me longer to read this book than I expected it would, but I’m not in the habit of reading lately.

It’s getting really good now. I’m so fascinated by the magic system of this book.

It’s so, so good. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It’s making me want to read books again 💕
