Isaac Asimov demonstrated his genius in the characters and setting of this quadrilogy. At the same time, we get a sense of how much he enjoyed writing the mystery storylines. His wisdom is demonstrated in the way he wove what he loved doing in with what the world needed him to do.

This could have been a good book if it were shorter.
