Elm is emboldened by Ione’s presence in Hauth’s room; she helps him to be brave in the face of his trauma. Elm retrieves Ione’s dresses to help her feel more like “the real Ione”; he helps her to be more normal amidst the Maiden card’s influence. What do they both keep talking about when they help each other? BALANCE! 🥹 … specifically between perfection and imperfection! I love this 🫶🏼

Just had a bit of a lightbulb moment… I get the feeling that Ione comes to embody the Maiden card through all Rachel’s descriptions of her focusing on how flawless and unfeeling she is under the card’s influence, like it’s pretty extreme. We’re told a little before where I’m up to that the Maiden can heal… I wonder if Ione heals Elm??? Just one possible interpretation - if so, then I love that 🥹

I feel like the world building and character setup has been great but I’m not sure what can happen now with just over 40% to go??
