Yet again absolutely escaping into/melding with one of Lily King’s books. Reading this one after Writers and Lovers is interesting because the character is younger, younger than me?? And it bothers me that all of these rly important intense experiences she has in college, she doesn’t think about when she’s 30. Also I think I’m jaded. Love/connections at this age are transitory. (I need Lily to write my story)

Smart writer. Writers are magical—how do they do that?

Jesus Christ and holy SHIT.
Audre Lorde is changing my life

I am such an AVID and enthusiastic student rn. I am so grateful and thrilled to experience this work.

It is so important for women to share and write and speak and also READ each other’s work.

Wilkerson is such a great writer and storyteller. Somehow an equally academic/really educational text and also so engaging/narratively compelling

WOW. Holy shit Audre Lorde. Only one text in, and I already feel the gravity and importance and healing powers of her work. So excited to pour over more. This is special

(And also incredible intro, Roxane Gay, I’m going to read more of you)

Saw in the “Letters for the Future” exhibit in the Brooklyn Public Library. Yay to riso! Yay to independent publishing and the sharing of radical ideas!

There are some playwrights or screenwriters who are so good at writing dialogue and creating realistic interesting characters, and Amy is a master

This really is a remarkable book, but I think I’m gonna have to read this one again and maybe a third time to rly grasp it. Fascinating characters and also rly interesting way to read about the experiences of people living in the Russian occupation/communist regime
